Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Public Parking Rates To Increase October 1, 2007
September 25th, 2007
The Board of County Commissioners of Broward County recently approved the amendment of Chapter 39 of the County Administrative Code as it relates to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). This allows the aviation department to update its rates, fees and charges. Many of these fees have not been increased in several years. Some of the changes include public parking rates at the airport.
Effective October 1, 2007, the following public parking rates at FLL will change as follows:
Garage “Short-Term Parking” changes to Garage Hourly Parking with an increase from $1.00 per half hour with a daily maximum of $36.00, to $1.00 per 20 minutes with the same daily maximum. This rate has not increased since February 1, 2003.
Garage “Long-Term Parking” is renamed Garage Daily Parking. The public parking fee will rise from $1.00 per half hour with a daily maximum of $12.00 to $1.00 per 20 minutes with a daily maximum of $15.00. This rate has not changed since February 1, 2003. Surface Lot/Remote Lot parking increases from $6.00 to $9.00. This rate has not changed since February 1, 2003.
Valet parking maximum daily fee increases from $16.00 to $21.00. This fee has not increased since October 1, 2002.
Please note at the Board of County Commissioners Meeting on September 11, 2007, discussions on the proposed increase in parking rate fees for airport employees was deferred for 60 days. For more information contact, Greg Meyer, Public Information Officer, at 954-359-6116
